Museum for Image and Sound (MIS)
The Museum for Image & Sound (MIS), conceived as an extension of the existing similar museum in Copacabana, is intended for media collection, management, didactic and technical research. The site chosen occupies a historical building in Lapa, an historical area of the city of Rio de Janeiro with a traditional colonial era like architecture. The project presented Daniel and his team with a unique opportunity of integration, active participation and influence in one of the most diverse cultural and leisure areas of Rio de Janeiro. A basic premise of the project was to develop an extremely efficient and logical building, which would capture the “Spirit of Lapa”, one of the most bohemian areas in the 20s, with plenty of buildings from the Rio "Belle Epoque" area.
