The shopping Mooca is situated in a sprawling urban area in the city of Sao Paulo and the program asked to incorporate elements to make the visitor’s experience as varied as possible. Visitors not only go to shop through different stores, but also to extend time spent there by incorporating other activities such as cinema, theaters and restaurants. The plan allows for two different entrances, one located near a main bus station and the other one through a food court, close to one of the main avenues in that sector. The food court also leads to an internal area with gardens, fine restaurants and night clubs, with the intend to “extend” the experience and offer different leisure options. The external facade has elements such as large windows that make the volumetry more dynamic and serve as “anchor points”, so that the way through the commercial area is not linear and finishes at the internal garden, close to the food court area.
